Price revised on a shortlisted home

Meta category: Marketing

Marketing templates promote, recommend, or try to bring someone back. Meta bills them as marketing messages. The person needs a valid opt-in, and the copy cannot be dressed up as a shipping or payment update.

A price change on a home they have not bought is a prompt to act. It is marketing, even though they shortlisted it.

Template body

Hi {{1}}, the asking price of {{2}}, which you shortlisted, changed from {{3}} to {{4}}. The visit is not booked unless you already have one.

Submit these as the examples Meta reviews. Replace them with your own customer data only at send time.

When to use it

Send only to people who shortlisted that specific home, when the asking price changes. Say whether you booked a visit or not, as this body does, so a price drop is not mistaken for a confirmed appointment.

If the price went up, this template still works because both numbers are variables. Do not soften an increase into 'updated pricing' without the figures. They can check the page.

Tips for getting it approved

  • Both prices belong in the samples, with the same unit.
  • Do not call a price drop a 'festival offer' unless it is one.
  • The remove reply should actually take the home off their shortlist.

Frequently asked questions

Is a price drop utility?

Not before they have a booking or a token on that home. You are inviting them back to a listing, which is marketing.

What if the developer revises the price again the next day?

Send once per revision, with the new pair of numbers. Do not send the old drop after the price has moved back.
