Utility templates confirm or update something the person already asked for: an order, a booking, an appointment, or a payment they owe on an existing invoice. A discount, a new product, or a 'while you are here' line moves the template into marketing.

When to use it
Send it when the payment is settled in your ledger, not when the customer says they have paid. {{4}} should be the UTR, cheque number, or gateway id your accounts team can find later.
If the payment is partial, do not use this body. 'This closes that bill' would be false. Write a partial-receipt template that states the balance left.
Tips for getting it approved
- Do not add 'here is 10% off your next invoice' under the receipt.
- The amount sample must use the same format as your other payment templates.
- A receipt link is enough. A second button to a new offer splits the category.
Frequently asked questions
Should the receipt go to WhatsApp and email?
Email can carry the PDF. WhatsApp is the short confirmation with the reference. Do not paste a full statement into the template body.
What if the amount is a refund, not a payment in?
Do not reuse this template. A refund needs its own wording and should not say the bill is closed unless it is.
