Utility template
Gentle overdue note
Meta category: Utility
Utility templates confirm or update something the person already asked for: an order, a booking, an appointment, or a payment they owe on an existing invoice. A discount, a new product, or a 'while you are here' line moves the template into marketing.
The invoice is already past the agreed due date. A factual overdue note, without a penalty scare or a discount, is utility.

When to use it
Send this a few days after the due date, once, then move the account to a human if there is no reply. Count the days yourself before you send. The body does not say '7 days late' as a fixed phrase, because that number goes stale.
The 'Payment sent' reply should pause automated chasers and ask your team to match the credit. Do not keep sending the overdue note while a UTR is sitting unread in the thread.
Tips for getting it approved
- No legal threats, no 'final notice', no embarrassment. Meta rejects abusive collections language.
- Do not offer to waive a late fee in exchange for paying today. That is an offer.
- Samples must show a due date that is before 'today' relative to a realistic send, so the overdue claim makes sense.
Frequently asked questions
How many overdue messages are reasonable?
One WhatsApp template, then a person. A daily chaser on the same template looks like spam and will get blocked, which also blocks your genuine receipts.
Can I name a late fee?
Only if the contract they already signed states that fee and you are informing them it has been applied. Inventing a fee in the template is not a reminder.
