Authentication template
Payment verification code
Meta category: Authentication
Authentication templates send a one-time code. Meta fixes most of the wording. You cannot add a sale, a product name, an emoji, or a link to the shop. The button copies the code.
This message exists to deliver a one-time code for a payment step. Meta treats that as authentication. You cannot add the shop, a product, or a discount around the code.
Template body
{{1}} is your verification code for {{2}}. For your security, do not share this code.Sample values
Submit these as the examples Meta reviews. Replace them with your own customer data only at send time.

When to use it
Use this only at the moment the customer is verifying a payment on your own checkout or billing portal. The code in {{1}} should expire within a few minutes. {{2}} is your business name, not a product and not an amount.
Do not send it as a reminder to pay. An OTP that arrives with no payment screen open is a phishing pattern, and customers are right to ignore it. If Meta rewrites the body to its preset, accept the preset rather than arguing a slogan back in.
Tips for getting it approved
- No emoji, no URL button, no quick reply that says 'Pay now'.
- The sample code should be 6 digits, not the words 'your code'.
- Do not mention a sale, a cart, or an invoice discount in the body.
Frequently asked questions
Can I add the amount they are paying?
Not on an authentication template. The amount belongs on the payment page they already have open. The WhatsApp message only carries the code.
Why is there no shop link?
Authentication templates are not allowed to send people anywhere. A link next to a code is how phishing templates are built, so Meta blocks it.
