Utility template
Lab report ready
Meta category: Utility
Utility templates confirm or update something the person already asked for: an order, a booking, an appointment, or a payment they owe on an existing invoice. A discount, a new product, or a 'while you are here' line moves the template into marketing.
The patient already gave a sample or was told a report was pending. Saying it is ready, behind a login, is utility. The values do not belong in WhatsApp.

When to use it
Send it when the report is visible in the portal, not when the analyser finishes and the pathologist has not signed. {{2}} is a visit id, not a test name. If the patient had several visits, the id is what keeps the right report attached.
If the portal needs a date of birth to open, say that on the login page, not in the template. The WhatsApp preview is visible on a locked phone.
Tips for getting it approved
- Do not put a test name that implies a diagnosis in the sample. 'Visit LW-33910' is the right level.
- No 'your results need attention' line. That is a clinical judgement and a privacy leak.
- The link should require authentication.
Frequently asked questions
Why not attach the PDF?
A PDF in WhatsApp is forwarded with one tap, and it often contains values you would not put on a lock screen. A login is the safer default.
Can the doctor add a comment in the template?
No. Comments belong in the report. The template only says the report is ready.
