Utility template
Web check-in is open
Meta category: Utility
Utility templates confirm or update something the person already asked for: an order, a booking, an appointment, or a payment they owe on an existing invoice. A discount, a new product, or a 'while you are here' line moves the template into marketing.
Check-in for a flight they already booked is a service update. It is utility if you do not sell a seat upgrade in the same template.

When to use it
Send it when check-in actually opens, usually 48 or 24 hours out depending on the airline. {{4}} is that airline's close time for this flight. If you are a travel agent, the button can deep-link via your page, but the rules text should not imply you control the seat map.
Do not send it for a flight that was cancelled. Send the delay or cancellation update instead. A check-in link on a dead flight is a support spike.
Tips for getting it approved
- Flight number, route, and a clock time in the samples.
- No 'upgrade to row 1' line.
- The URL sample should land on check-in, not a holiday package.
Frequently asked questions
What if the airline has not opened check-in yet?
Wait. The body says it is open. Sending early creates a link that errors and a passenger who thinks they missed it.
Can I include the PNR in the body?
Yes, as a variable, if you want it on the lock screen. Many agents keep the PNR on the check-in page instead, which is also fine. Do not put both a PNR and a passport number in the chat.
