Utility template

Class starts tomorrow

Meta category: Utility

Utility templates confirm or update something the person already asked for: an order, a booking, an appointment, or a payment they owe on an existing invoice. A discount, a new product, or a 'while you are here' line moves the template into marketing.

The student is already enrolled in this batch. Reminding them of the next session is utility, as long as you do not sell the next course.

When to use it

Send it the evening before to guardians or students who are on the roll for that batch. {{4}} should say 'live on the class link' or 'Room 3, Koramangala campus', not a vague 'online'. The button opens that session, not the course catalogue.

If the class is cancelled, do not send this and then a correction. Use a cancellation wording. A reminder for a class that will not happen is how coaching centres get marked as spam.

Tips for getting it approved

  • Name the batch in the sample. 'Your class' is too thin.
  • Do not add the fee balance or a new course under the reminder.
  • The URL sample should be a class page, not the homepage.

Frequently asked questions

Should this go to the parent or the student?

Send it to the number on the enrollment. For school-age batches that is usually the guardian. Do not guess a second family number.

Can the template include the topic of the day?

Put the topic on the class page. The template stays stable if a teacher changes the chapter the same afternoon.
